Every year, the Met Gala brings out some of High Fashion’s most creative and over-the-top designs; this year was no exception.  In honor of Monday’s Met Gala, we’ve chosen to celebrate one of our favorite food inspired fashion trends – Chinese takeout styled handbags.  These tiny purses are can inspire envy as well as spark your appetite.

Kathrine Baumann Chinese Takeout Purse

1. KATHRINE BAUMANN SWAROVSKI CRYSTAL CHINESE TAKEOUT  EVENING PURSE

This beautiful, evening handbag is an absolute head turner!  It’s covered with real red, black, and gold Swarovski crystals and has a shiny gold-tone handle.  We’ve seen it online with prices ranging from $1000-2700.  That’s not too bad all things considered.  The best part about this purse is that it comes with stylish crystal-accented chop sticks and original Kathrine Baumann protective black suede leather case.

CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA "TAKE ME AWAY" CHINESE TAKEOUT CLUTCH

2. CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA “TAKE ME AWAY” CLUTCH

Takeout got a facelift with this embroidered, satin Charlotte Olympia ‘Take Me Away’ clutch.  These limited edition purses came in pink, black, gold, and blue at a price tag of around $1300 and they flew off the shelves at Neiman Marcus and they couldn’t keep them in stock at Nordstrom either.  But, we found them here on the UK site for Charlotte Olympia.

Food Fashion - Kate Spade Takeout Purse

3. KATE SPADE NEW YORK HELLO SHANGHAI CRUZ CROSSBODY BAG

Kate Spade jumped on this trend too for her Fall 2014 collection.  But, lucky for you ladies who are interested in purchasing, she put a much lower price tag on her creation than the others on this list.  We found it online (sold out) for only $348.

Chanel Take Away Box Bag Inspired by Chinese Takeout

4. CHANEL TAKE AWAY BOX BAG

Even with a price tag of $7500, this limited edition Chanel bag had no problem selling out.  Karl Lagerfeld designed this back in 2010 in celebration of the Shanghai World Expo.  The purse was made with metallic fabric and finished off with a classic leather and metal chain strap.  We just hope you have money to put INSIDE the purse after you’ve made this purchase.
